The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF) is now accepting nominations for its annual Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award, which honors educators who creatively integrate agriculture into their classrooms. The award is open to non-vocational pre-K through 12th-grade teachers across Iowa. The selected teacher will receive $500 for classroom initiatives and up to $1,000 to attend the 2025 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Minneapolis. The award recognizes educators who enhance students’ understanding of food, agriculture, and related STEM fields by integrating agricultural concepts into lessons on topics such as biology, health, and economics. Nominations are encouraged from community members, colleagues, and agriculture advocates. Applications are due by Nov. 17. A link to the nomination materials is included below.
