The City of Westside will be placed in a boil advisory from 5:00 p.m. tonight (Friday) throughout the weekend until Tuesday evening. Yesterday (Thursday), while city crews were flushing mains, a hydrant blew, causing a significant leak in the water main. A large portion of the city will have their water shut off to repair the main. Once service has been restored, residents are asked to boil water for at least one minute if used for consumption. Water will still be safe for general cleaning, showering, and washing clothes. This order is again in effect from 5:00 p.m. Friday evening until Tuesday evening when two samples collected are tested free of any contaminants.
