Larry Benjamin Klocke was born February 9, 1942 in Dedham to Clem and Elizabeth (Wiskus) Klocke. Farming was his passion and life’s hard work and destiny. He joined the Iowa National Guard in 1964 in which he served until 1970. Larry married Patricia (Pat) Starman on January 29,1966 at Holy Angels Church in Roselle.

Larry farmed for approximately 50 years in Audubon County (just south of Dedham). During their marriage, Pat and Larry welcomed 3 children: Lisa, Chris, and David.

Outside of farming, Larry enjoyed woodworking and attending craft shows with his “sweetie” (Pat). He often played some serious card games with his brothers, sisters, in laws, kids and grandchild. Faith and family were a tremendous focus for Larry. He was strong in his faith and prayed the rosary daily.

In his retirement years, he enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds while wearing his overalls and sitting on the back patio with Pat contemplating life. Larry and Pat also spent many hours on the road visiting all 100 Freedom Rocks in Iowa with stops at Caseys for coffee (that was a must). He also “monitored” the crops around him to make sure all was right.

Larry was a hardworking man who instilled great values and skills in his kids.

Preceding him in death are his parents and parents in law: Clem and Elizabeth (Wiskus) Klocke, John & Louise (Haverman) Starman. Sisters, brothers and in laws: Jessie & Arnold Fast, Maxine & Gene McFarland, Helen & Roy Knobbe & Delbert Johnson, Lorraine & Bill Gettler, Frances & Norman Phipps & Neil Whisnat, Louise & Earl Costello, Donna and Ken Lowe, Lambert Klocke, LeRoy & Janice Klocke, Joleen Klocke, Ed Berger, and Leon Starman. As well as several nieces & nephews.

Survived by his wife Pat (Starman) Klocke, daughters Lisa (Bill) Wieland and Chris Klocke, son David Klocke, loving granddaughter Nikki Izer (Fiancé Andrew Ramsey). Brothers and sisters and in-laws: Gerald (Betty) Klocke, Donna Klocke, Ronald Klocke, Jim (Louann) Klocke, Sharon (Eldon) Wright, Wayne (Carol) Klocke, Marlene (Jim) Wille, LaVonne Berger, Roman Starman, Gerald (Jealeen) Starman, Jim (Carol) Starman.

Larry’s favorite saying was “well,,we better Mosey on home”. Mosey on to eternal life Larry/Dad/Grandpa. We love you to eternity and beyond.
