A New York man was airlifted for serious injuries following a two-semi-tractor trailer accident last week. According to the report released by the Iowa State Patrol, at around 10:40 a.m. on Oct. 24, 23-year-old Salwinder Singh of South Richmond, N.Y., was traveling northbound on Noble Ave. in a 2018 Freightliner semi when Singh ran the stop sign located at the intersection of Noble Ave and 150th Street. Singh then collided with the rear right side of a trailer connected to an eastbound 2015 International Prostar semi operated by 28-year-old Blake Louis Eischeid of Carroll. Both semis left the roadway, entering a harvested corn field on the northeast side of the intersection. Singh, who was reported not to be wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, needed to be extricated from the semi and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with suspected serious injuries. Eischeid received no injuries in the crash. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Lidderdale Fire Department, among other agencies, assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
