Iowa Fuel Report: Oct. 30, 2024

Gas prices in Iowa continued on their downward trajectory in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Oct. 30, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.90, six cents below last week’s price and 31 cents lower than a year ago. The national average was down two cents on Wednesday to $3.14 per gallon. In Iowa retail diesel, prices dipped five cents to $3.38 per gallon, compared to $4.56 a year ago. Iowa prices remain 20 cents below the $3.58 national average. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.15. In heating fuels, natural gas prices jumped 54 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $2.85 per MMBtu, while propane prices and home heating oil prices were unchanged from $1.54 per gallon and $2.86 per gallon, respectively.
