Lake View Police Chief George Athan is thanking the public and law enforcement agencies from around the area for their assistance in swiftly and safely recovering a missing dependent adult earlier this week. On Monday, Oct. 28, the Lake View Police Department responded to a report of a 28-year-old male leaving a residence of the 200 block of S. Blossom Street in Lake View. Athan says officers immediately issued an alert to surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for the individual, and the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, Sac City Police Department, Sac County Emergency Medical Services, Lake View Fire Department, and Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) all responded, in addition to help from the public. He was quickly spotted by a DPS search plane near Mace Avenue and 290th Street, nearly 4.5 miles northwest of Lake View. Athan thanked every Sac County resident and agency who assisted in the search, saying, “This successful recovery highlights the strength of our community partnerships and the vital role of multi-agency collaboration in emergency situations.”
