generic-flag

The Manning VFW Auxiliary is going to be presenting three veterans with a Quilt of Valor this Sunday at the VFW Hall. Everyone is welcome to come attend the ceremony to recognize and honor Leo Willenborg, Don Zubrod and Melvin Renze for their service. Manning VFW Auxiliary treasurer, Majorie Jurgensen, says this ceremony is just another way the Auxiliary members can pay their respect to the veterans in the Manning area.

This Sunday at the Manning VFW Hall starting at 1:30 p.m., the Perry Piecemakers Quilt Guild will present the gentleman with their own patriotic quilt that Jurgensen made this past year. Jurgensen says each quilt can take a couple weeks or a few months to make, depending on material on hand and her free time to dedicate to this hobby of hers.

A small reception of cookies, bars and coffee will be held after the ceremony, to give attendees a chance to give a personal congratulations and thank you to the honorees. Jurgensen encourages all who can to come out and celebrate these veterans with their families.
