Summit Carbon Solutions has scheduled two more open houses in the listening area to discuss safety around the proposed CO2 pipeline. The first meeting will be held on Nov. 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Mary Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center. The second is the following morning on, Nov. 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Greene County ISU Extension Office in Jefferson. While the previous informative sessions went over the plan of the underground hazardous liquid pipeline that will transport liquefied carbon dioxide through Iowa to North Dakota for permanent sequestration, this meeting will focus on the safety aspect of the project. The Fall 2024 Iowa Safety Tour will kick off Wednesday morning in Adams County, visiting 21 additional counties through Nov. 21. A complete list of meetings has been included below.
