MRHC Invites Area Seniors To November Seminars To Help Them Navigate Program Changes

Medicare

Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) is hosting several informational sessions for Medicare enrollees later this month. The Friday, Nov. 22, program focuses on Medicare Part D, and a general “Welcome to Medicare” seminar will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, to help beneficiaries navigate 2025 changes. At the first program, MRHC staff will offer free, confidential assistance to help Medicare beneficiaries review and compare Medicare Part D and Advantage Plan options. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 712-655-2072. Participants are encouraged to bring their medication list and Medicare cards. The Nov. 26 seminar, organized by Iowa’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), will cover Parts A and B, Prescription Drug Benefits (Part D), and tips on avoiding Medicare fraud. Attendees must register by Nov. 18 using the same phone number. Beginning in 2025, Medicare Part D will have a $2,000 out-of-pocket drug spending cap and offer an installment option for drug costs. Those unable to attend these programs can schedule an appointment with SHIIP Counselor Nancy Danner, who is available every Wednesday at MRHC.
