More than three-quarters of registered voters in Greene County turned out to cast ballots in Tuesday’s election. Republicans swept the local races, with Republican Joe Gannon winning 59.91 percent of the vote over Democrat Greg Ruth in the District 1 Board of Supervisors race. In District 4, Republican John Muir defeated Democrat Victoria Riley with 71.01 percent of the total vote. Republican Incumbent Jack Williams retained his position as county sheriff with 60.12 percent support over Shane Monthei. In two uncontested races, Republican incumbents Billie Jo Hoskins and Pete Bardole won their races for County Auditor and District 5 Supervisor, respectively. Following the unofficial tally, 4,962 voters participated in Tuesday’s election of the 6,522 registered voters. All of the local election results are available online at www.carrollbroadcasting.com.
