Former Senator Craig Williams Wins Iowa House District 11 Race

Republican Craig Williams, a former state senator, will return to the statehouse as the Iowa House District 11 representative in January. Williams, of Manning, defeated the Democratic challenger, Jeff Rich of Glidden, with 72.38 percent of the 15,695 votes cast across Carroll, Audubon, and Shelby counties and a small section of Pottawattamie County. Williams says he is grateful to voters for their support.

Williams also thanked Rich for running a respectable campaign.

Republicans are forecasted to strengthen their majorities in the Iowa House and Iowa Senate following Tuesday’s elections. Williams says that is indicative that what the GOP is doing in Iowa is resonating with voters.

Williams foresees that one of his biggest challenges after taking office in the House is adjusting to the differences between the Iowa Senate and the Iowa Senate.
