Fuel prices in Iowa dipped lower in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Nov. 6, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.85, five cents lower than last week and 24 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average was down three cents on Wednesday to $3.11 per gallon. In retail diesel, Iowa prices fell four cents to a statewide average of $3.34 per gallon, compared to $4.42 a year ago. The national average was 23 cents over Iowa prices at $3.57 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site fell nine cents to $2.76 per MMBtu. Propane prices dipped by one cent to $1.53 per gallon, while home heating oil prices fell five cents to $2.81 per gallon.
