Susan May Ballou was born on June 13, 1949 to David and Dorothy (Howland) Ballou in Sibley, Iowa.   She attended school in Hartley Iowa, where her mother taught second grade, while living at the farms in Archer and Lake Park, Iowa.  Susan was blessed to grow up the youngest of a big loving family with her siblings David, Patty, Billy, and twin sister Cynthia.

While living on the farm in Lake Park, she met her neighbor John Morrow, who helped out her father on the farm, and they were married on November 23, 1968.  John and Susan had two children, Angela and Neil Morrow, and they lived in Lincoln, Nebraska until 1976, followed by many years in Wall Lake, Iowa.   While living in Wall Lake, Susan got her accounting degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa.  Following divorce, Susan moved to Carroll, Iowa and continued serving the community as an accountant at her firm, Morrow Tax & Accounting.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family, enjoyed her work and her clients, and adored her many grandchildren, Angela’s sons Calvin, Riley, Brady, and Owen, as well as Neil’s sons Derek, Ryan, Matthew and stepchildren Daniel and Elizabeth.  She also really enjoyed exercising at CrossFit with Brian, even into her 70’s.  She loved putzing around on her cozy condo, ever increasing her collection of warm and interesting knick-knacks, and has always been a good cook; the world will miss her spritz cookies.   She loved to read, enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family, and was full of humor.

Susan is survived by her sister Cynthia, daughter Angela DuPont and husband Mike DuPont, son Neil Morrow and wife Tami Carrillo, and her many grandchildren: Calvin Meyer, Riley Meyer, Brady Schulz, Owen Schulz, Derek Morrow, Ryan Morrow, Matthew Morrow, Daniel McHugh, and Elizabeth McHugh.   She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  Susan was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Carl Rau, and her siblings David, Patty, and Billy, as well as her siblings Donny and Judy who passed at childbirth.
