The Carroll City Council has released a relatively short agenda for next week’s meeting. The council convenes at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall on Monday, Nov. 11. City Manager Aaron Kooiker says most of the items are routine business, beginning with the final approval for a $1.555 million General Obligation capital loan note. According to Kooiker, this is to finance the recently completed street improvements in the central business district.
The council will also review bids for substantial roof replacements on city-owned properties related to a hailstorm last year. Bids ranged from as little as $635,207 to as much as $1.959 million. The bulk of that expense will be covered by the city’s insurance, but officials will need to decide how much roofing truly needs to be replaced and where they will source funds to cover any shortfall. Kooiker says the council is also approving several required annual reports related to tax increment financing (TIF) appropriations, urban renewal, and city streets.
The only other item on the agenda is a vicious animal appeal hearing, which Kooiker expects to take up the bulk of the meeting’s duration. Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included below.
