The Carroll County Board of Supervisors made the results of last week’s election official and welcomed its newest member during their meeting yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. The canvassing process took nearly an hour as the board read through the results from each county precinct, voting unanimously to certify the results. With the results finalized, County Auditor Kourtney Payer administered the oath of office to new District 5 Supervisor Mark McCrea. The supervisors also thanked Payer and her staff for running another smooth election. McCrea is replacing interim District 5 Supervisor Mark Beardmore, who was appointed to fill the vacancy in June following the resignation of Cindy Scaturico. Board Chair Stephanie Hausman thanked Beardmore for his service to the county over the last four months.

McCrea is the only new member of the Carroll County Board of Supervisors. District 1 Supervisor Scott Johnson and District 3 Supervisor Gene Meiners were both re-elected in uncontested races. McCrea was sworn in early to complete the tail end of the current term. The new term begins Jan. 1, 2025.
