The Carroll Recreation Center’s 24th annual Turkey Shoot is coming up this weekend, and there is still time for young athletes to sign up for their chance to win a free turkey. The Turkey Shoot will be held on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Elementary gymnasium and is open to athletes between five and 18 years old. Participants will compete against their peers in a free throw contest. Contestants will be separated into age categories, with a boys and girls winner in each group. The entry fee is three non-perishable food items, which will then be donated to the Community of Concern food pantry. Those “entry fees” should be dropped off at the Carroll Recreation Center prior to heading over to Fairview Elementary for the contest. Registration is open until 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
