Fuel prices continued to fall in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Nov. 13, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.80, down five cents from last week’s price and 25 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down three cents to $3.08 per gallon. Iowa retail prices also fell three cents to a statewide average of $3.31 per gallon, compared to $4.30 a year ago. Iowa prices remain 24 cents below the $3.55 national average. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 22 cents to $2.98 per MMBtu. Propane prices rose one cent to $1.54 per gallon, while home heating oil dropped one cent to $2.80 per gallon.
