With the giving season beginning, a recent study from personal finance website WalletHub shows Iowa is one of the nation’s most charitable states. Iowa ranked 14th based on WalletHub’s review of volunteering and service rates, charitable giving, and more. Iowa had the 9th most charities per capita, the 10th highest volunteer rate, the 11th highest percentage of population donating time, and the 17th highest volunteer retention rate and volunteer hours per capita. Wyoming, Utah, and Minnesota took the top spots as the most charitable states in the nation, while Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico were the least philanthropic.
