A native Audubon family and previous coach to Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark is donating a copy of her story to all second-grade students across the state. Dickson and Luann Jensen, from Audubon County but now living in Ames, believe books and athletics are two valuable tools that help set children up for success. Their daughter, Ally Obermeier, is the author of the book ‘Just Like Caitlin,’ telling her story and addressing essential life lessons like working hard towards your dreams, valuing relationships over winning, and much more. Dickson was Clark’s former coach when she played through the All Iowa Attack girls’ basketball program. A letter sent home to the parents of the students receiving the book stated, “The Jensen’s are proud of Caitlin and believe she is a great role model for all kids. Because of their love for children and desire to impact the next generation, they hope this book inspires kids to believe their future can be greater than they imagine.” Those who wish to purchase a copy of the book online can do so using the link included with this story on our website. Thanks to a donation from an anonymous supporter, 100% of proceeds from each purchase will directly support the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation to continue funding facilities and develop athletic programs for children across the state.
