The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meets this upcoming Monday, with mainly annual routine items to approve on the agenda. The meeting will convene at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School, with the first items to review board policies. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the board members will review the swim team and City of Carroll agreements for usage of Merchant Field and FFA food plot, donations to the Tiger Cupboard, and personnel reports before moving into an organizational meeting.
After the committees are appointed, board members will review administrators’ and student board member reports and the first reading of policy readings before moving on to action items. Berlau says action items include early graduates, modifying job descriptions and quotes, and considering modifying board policy regarding student conduct on the bus.
For the business office report, the district will be requesting spending authority from the School Budget Review Committee (SBRC) for modified supplemental aid for open-enrolled students not counted for in the prior year and English Language Learners (ELL) students exceeding five years. Berlau says the board will review balance transfers and the first bid to start construction for the transportation facility. After soil testing, Berlau says Merit Construction will begin on the new building.
The meeting will end with a closed session for superintendent evaluation, which occurs every year. Again, the CCSD Board of Education will meet this upcoming Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School. The meeting is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
