Gloria Wenck of Lidderdale

 Gloria Jean (Hein) Wenck, age 94 of Lidderdale, IA entered into her heavenly home on November 15, 2024 peacefully at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA surrounded by her family.
A private family funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale with Pastor Paul Ferderer officiating.  Organist for the service will be Ed Ludwig.  Casket bearers will be grandsons: Matthew Wenck, Mark Wenck, Joshua Rempfer, Jacob Rempfer, Jonathan Rempfer, and Christopher Wenck. Honorary casket bearers will be granddaughters: Erin Roubal, Bethany Gallegos, Brooke Gallinsky, Emily Greteman, Lacey Knobbe, Breely Schiltz, Mallory Hackfort, Abby Schreck, Maggy Koster, and Shelby Schneider. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lidderdale.
     There will be no public visitation held.

     Gloria was born November 26, 1929 in Carroll. She was the daughter of Elmer and Golda (Walther) Hein and grew up on a farm south of Lidderdale. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Gloria graduated from Carroll High School in 1947. Following high school she worked at Security Title and Ocoma Foods. She was married to Oliver Wenck on June 13, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They lived in Lidderdale, and into this union were born four sons and one daughter. Gloria was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, Ladies Aid at church, taking lunch to Wenck Feeds for her boys, spending time with her family and in her later years, spending winter months in Texas, and then in Florida.
Gloria is survived by her five children, Scott Wenck and his wife Cindy of Lidderdale, Deb and Pastor Steven Rempfer of Atkins, IA, Daniel Wenck and his wife Billie of Glidden, Jeffrey Wenck and his wife Ann of Lidderdale, Lynn Wenck and his wife Beth of Lidderdale; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Junior Hein and his wife Donna of Glidden, a sister-in-law Frieda Wenck of Lidderdale, and a sister-in-law Arlette Hein of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years in 2013, her parents Elmer and Golda Hein, parents-in-law Dan and Frieda Wenck; brothers, Lyle Hein and his wife Norma, and Allen Hein, two sisters-in-law Lois Winger and Carol Conner; two brothers-in-law Russell Wenck and Glen Wenck; and one grandson David Wenck.
