The Carroll City Council is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Wednesday) evening for the first of several planning sessions as work begins on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 budget. City Manager Aaron Kooiker says the council does this every year, and it offers a great opportunity to reflect on the successes and challenges of the past year.

Kooiker says a good chunk of the meeting will be spent updating the council on the city’s financial position.

Part of that is the city’s five-year capital improvement plan, which includes more than $37 million in projects between the current fiscal year and FY29.

Council members were tasked with filling out a questionnaire to identify their priorities, which will be used to shape city staff’s objectives in the new year. The Wednesday, Nov. 20, planning session begins at 5 p.m. at the Region XII Council of Governments headquarters on Anthony Street in Carroll. No formal action items are on the agenda, but the meeting is still open to the public. More information about the city’s planning process is included with this story on our website.
