The trial of a Gowrie man being charged for the death of a 17-year-old Farnhamville teen has been rescheduled until July of next year. According to Calhoun County District Court records, 21-year-old Nathaniel Kyren Bevers-McGivney was taken into custody on Sept. 23 for charges of first-degree murder, a class A felony, and abuse of a corpse-hiding or burying the body, a class C felony, in connection to the death of Michele “Luna” Jackson after allegedly using a knife to cut the girl’s throat with premeditation and specific intent to kill. A jury trial was initially scheduled for today (Tuesday) but has been rescheduled until July 8, 2025. Bevers-McGivney is in custody at the Carroll County Jail, where he is being held without bond. Both charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
