Christmas View’s light display will return this year, and more lights will be displayed at Camp Crescent, thanks to community support. This upcoming Wednesday at 6 p.m., various Christmas light displays will be lit up through the campground in the northwest corner of Black Hawk Lake. What started as a dream for Beth Noethe to bring an event like this to the Lake View community quickly took off, becoming a tradition that is hopeful to last for years to come. Event Coordinator for Lake View Community Club, Emily Meyer, says this is the real start of all the holiday events scheduled in the next few weeks.
Meyer says Noethe started putting lights up three weeks ago, so a lot of work has been put into making this Christ View happen. Meyer says the group obtains sponsorships of the lights and asks for donations to continue funding this new tradition.
The lighting ceremony starts at 6 p.m. this upcoming Wednesday, with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Hot chocolate and cookie treats will also be served. After the lights are turned on for the first time, Meyer says anyone is welcome to drive through Camp Crescent to view all the displays.
Again, the kickoff of holiday events in Lake View will be this upcoming Wednesday with Christmas View. Everyone is welcome to attend and encouraged to continue supporting this light display so that it can be made even bigger and better in future years.
