Roger Lee Kolbe, age 76, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home in Coon Rapids, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 25, 2024 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Cindy Johnson officiating. Casket bearers will be Roger’s family members. Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the funeral service. Burial will be in the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter, IA.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 10 – 10:45 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.

Roger was born on January 29, 1948 in Lake City, IA, and he was the son of Eugene and Betty Lou (Schug) Kolbe. He grew up in Fort Dodge where he attended high school. He enlisted in the United States Army following high school and served 5 years. He was stationed in Germany. Following his military service he worked with his father. Roger moved to Colorado where he worked as a janitor. He moved back to Carroll in the mid 80’s. Roger enjoyed studying the world wars, American presidents, and the United States Military. He also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and movies.
Roger is survived by a sister Kathy Fish of Plymouth, MN; a brother Randy Kolbe (Kris) of Solon, IA; a sister-in-law Judy Kolbe of Arvada, CO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Betty Lou Kolbe; a brother Kelly Kolbe; and a brother-in-law Donald Fish.
