Fuel prices in the state held steady this week as Iowans prepare to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline on Tuesday, Nov. 26, was $2.75, even with last week’s prices and 14 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Tuesday was unchanged for the week at $3.07 per gallon. In retail diesel, Iowa prices were stable at the $3.30 per gallon average, compared to $4.10 per gallon a year ago. Iowa prices remain 25 cents below the national average of $3.55. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 27 cents to $3.47 per MMBtu, propane prices rose one cent to $1.54 per gallon, and home heating oil prices also climbed one cent to $2.82 per gallon.
