The Carroll Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the beginning of Christmastime in Carroll with their annual depot-lighting ceremony this (Friday) evening. At 6:30 p.m., residents will gather outside the Chamber headquarters off of W. 5th Street to see the decorations turned on for the season. Some holiday favorites, including Santa and Mrs. Claus, are also scheduled to appear during the event. The holiday festivities continue into the weekend, as businesses throughout town participate in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30, which emphasizes the importance of supporting local companies during the holiday shopping season. Once again, the Chamber is sponsoring horse-drawn carriage rides from TAGA Shires. Trips are available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., starting outside the Chamber Depot.
