ESC Student Council Looking To ‘Cover’ The Commons With Stuffed Animals For Fundraising Event

The East Sac County (ESC) Student Council is asking for donations of new stuffed animals with the return of a popular fundraising event: Cover the Commons. First introduced in 2022, ESC students and district residents participated in a “competitive” game of tossing the stuffed animals over the balcony at the commons in the high school to land on a target. The three closest animals were deemed the winners and received Raider’s merch and treats from the concession stand. This year, on Dec. 10, the student council is bringing the event back, with all stuffed animals donated to pediatric patients at Loring Hospital. All those who donate a stuffed toy will receive free popcorn during the concession stand as a thank you for assisting with the ESC student council efforts. Again, attendees to the Dec. 10 varsity boys wrestling meet are asked to bring a new stuffed animal for the annual favorite, Cover the Commons fundraising event.
