The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will meet this upcoming Monday to discuss the State Report Card, At-Risk plan, and more. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School, with the first topic of discussion being the performance score given by the Iowa Department of Education. CCSD elementary schools earned a commendable rating, and the middle school an acceptable designation. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says most of the discussion will probably be had on the high school’s “needs improvement” rating at the targeted status.

Next on the agenda is the district’s At Risk Plan, which Berlau says gets reviewed annually.

The meeting will end following an initial discussion on a staffing plan for the 2025-26 school year and shared learning from board members at the Iowa Association of School Boards Convention held Nov. 20-21. While no action is typically taken at work session meetings, Berlau says this presents a great opportunity to have questions answered and to just share information with the Board of Education.
