The Carroll Fire Department responded to a dump trailer on fire at a construction business in Carroll early this afternoon (Monday). According to Fire Chief Dan Hannasch, the department was called out at approximately 11:54 a.m. to 828 W. 6th St. for an Iowa Spray Foam dump trailer that got caught on fire while workers were transporting old pieces of material to dispose of. The crew extinguished the blaze and arrived back at the station roughly half an hour later at 12:26 p.m. No one was injured, and the trailer can still be used after receiving minimal damage. It is unknown as to what specifically caused the fire, however junk foam that is placed under heat inside a container can combust spontaneously.
