Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) aims to reach $5,000 in donations for this upcoming Giving Tuesday to increase support in local healthcare education. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that started in 2012, encouraging individuals to donate time and money and give gratitude and support to non-profit organizations that assist in making a difference in the communities they serve. SMCH is looking to use the funds raised to expand its Discover Healthcare Career Day, to invite all local area high school students interested in attending, and to increase the annual healthcare scholarships for graduating seniors to $1,000 to further promote continuing education in the field.
