The City of Lanesboro has been placed in a boil advisory until further notice due to a leak in a water main. Residents living in Lanesboro will need to boil any water that is planned to be used for food preparation or consumption for at least two minutes. Bottled water is encouraged at this time as an alternative. Water is still safe for showering, laundry, general washing and outdoor use without the need to be boiled first. The advisory will be in effect until two consecutive sets of bacterial samples have tested negative which is expected to take anywhere from 18-24 hours after samples are in.
