St. Anthony Regional Hospital has upgraded its pediatric emergency care capabilities, thanks to a grant from Variety–The Children’s Charity. The grant funding was used to purchase three pediatric crash carts, updated resuscitation tools, and handheld ultrasound devices for emergent pediatric assessments. Additionally, the grant supports staff training to ensure the effective use of the new equipment. The crash carts are tailored to pediatric patients with size-appropriate and color-coded tools and will be placed in the Emergency Department, Surgery Department, and inpatient pediatric unit. Vice President of Patient Services Sara Gonnerman says, “Over 1,000 pediatric patients come through our Emergency Department each year, and they require specialized equipment related to their size. These carts are more organized, provider and nurse-friendly, and designed to ensure faster, safer care for our patients. On behalf of St. Anthony, we extend a heartfelt thank you to Variety–the Children’s Charity for making this critical upgrade in pediatric care possible for patients in our communities.”
