The City of Glidden is kicking off the holiday season in town this coming weekend with the 2024 Winter Wonderland celebration downtown. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, around the Glidden Fire Station on Idaho Street. The schedule includes a visit from Santa and his elves, a holiday story at the library, a vendor fair, children’s crafts, and hayrack rides. The Glidden swim team also hosts their annual soup supper fundraiser in the fire station to raise funds for the youth organization. The annual Glidden community Christmas tree lighting is slated for the Friday before Winter Wonderland, on Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. Glidden’s holiday lighting contest judging will be held on Monday, Dec. 9.
