During this year’s convention, the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education earns all three Annual Board Awards through the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). Kristen Lundstrom, Duane Horsley, Stacey McCaulley, Jim Friel, and Jill Johnston received the Individual Achievement award for meeting a minimum of 15 hours of additional learning in one year. With each board member earning an individual award, the group was presented with the Team Achievement Award and was one of the 13 schools across the state that had every board member receive an individual achievement. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau was also presented with the Award of Honor for completing at least 15 hours of learning in one year and who represents a team of at least two board members being recognized for the individual award. Berlau was one of 44 superintendents in the state to receive the Award of Honor. CCSD Board of Education was spotlighted for this achievement during the IASB’s 79th Annual Convention held last month on Nov. 20 and 21.
