Gov. Reynolds Extends Harvest Proclamation

Gov. Kim Reynolds has signed an extension of Iowa’s Harvest Proclamation, temporarily easing transportation weight limits for agricultural products. The proclamation’s effects now extend through Jan. 7, 2025. The order allows vehicles carrying corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, and manure to exceed standard weight limits, up to 90,000 pounds gross weight, without requiring a permit. These allowances apply to non-interstate highways across Iowa, provided vehicles comply with other weight and safety regulations, including axle weight limits and posted road and bridge restrictions. The proclamation is designed to facilitate the harvest and transportation process, helping farmers manage their workload and deliver essential products.
