CMS Principal Scot Aden Resigns Mid-Year; Crystal Boes To Serve As Interim For Remainder Of School Year

Carroll Middle School (CMS) Principal Scot Aden will leave his role at the end of December to pursue an opportunity outside of education. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau announced Aden’s departure in a message to families on Monday. Crystal Boes, the district’s director of student services, will serve as interim principal starting Dec. 17 through the remainder of the school year. Boes has held various administrative positions over the past six years, including assistant elementary principal, elementary principal, and director of special education. Her experience also includes roles as a regional administrator with Heartland AEA and as a special education teacher at the middle and high school levels. Berlau says, “Crystal’s leadership and deep commitment to our students and staff make her an excellent choice to guide the Carroll Middle School during this transition. We are confident that she will provide the stability and support needed to maintain a positive learning environment for all students.” District leaders are working on a long-term plan for the principal position and will provide updates in the coming weeks.
