The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating a single-vehicle fatality accident that happened north of Carroll early Thursday morning. In what little details have been provided, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Noble Avenue at approximately 3:30 a.m. when striking the east guard rail of the bridge crossing over Storm Creek. The vehicle went off the roadway, rolling into the creek. The driver has been identified as 32-year-old Tanner Nieland of Auburn. While not the cause of death, the vehicle did catch on fire due to mechanical issues, but it was relatively small.
