CCSD Board Of Education Has A Closed Session As Well As Routine Action Items On Agenda For Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meets for the last time before the next calendar year this upcoming Monday. The meeting will occur at Adams Elementary School, starting at 6:30 p.m. First, on the agenda, the board members will enter into a closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)c to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation, where disclosure would likely prejudice or disadvantage the position of the government body in that litigation. The closed session has been confirmed to not be in regards to the Middle School Principal Scot Aden’s resignation. Once out of the closed session, the board will hear a presentation from Adams Elementary staff and administrative and student board member reports before reviewing board policies. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the district has received around $3,700 in donations, food, a chest freezer, and other items, mainly to the Tiger Cupboard for the board to approve.

In the action items, board members will consider approving early graduates, a fundraising opportunity, modifying a job description, getting quotes for the roof replacement at Carroll High School, and revising board policy regarding student conduct on buses.

The last items on Monday night’s agenda are updating substitute rates and reviewing the request for funding for the district’s at-risk/dropout prevention plan.

The CCSD Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School and is open to the public.
