Elk Horn’s Museum Of Danish America Selected For Iowa Interim Humanities Council Grant

The State Historical Society of Iowa has awarded over $140,000 in grants to support humanities projects across the state, including the Museum of Danish America in Elk Horn. The funding, provided through the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), aims to promote educational programs that encourage public engagement and community dialogue. The Humanities Project Grants program supports projects that use the humanities to explore the human experience, spark conversation, and connect diverse groups of Iowans. Humanities Council Director Andrew Klumpp says, “We are thrilled to support humanities projects throughout Iowa because we know they make a difference in Iowa communities. We’re delighted to be able to invest in the humanities here in Iowa and help make our home a more vibrant and engaging place to live.” The Museum of Danish America will use its approximately $13,000 grant to engage national and online audiences through its exhibition “Danish Ceramics: Beyond Blue and White.” Since 2020, Iowa’s Interim Humanities Council has received over $3 million in NEH funding to support humanities projects statewide.
