Iowa State Bank in Sac City contributes $30,000 for the replacement of the Sauk Rail Trail south of Lake View. The portion of the trail that sits over the Black Hawk Marsh Dike was needing repairs due to buckling and crackling in the concrete. After some convincing with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as it sits on state property, the Sac County Conservation have agreed to tear up the trail and pave a new concrete section. With this donation, Sac County Conservation is closer to its goal of $65,000 to be raised by this spring to help with the project’s overall costs. A link has been included below for those interested in contributing to the repaving project.
