The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating a shooting that occurred this (Tuesday) morning in Pomeroy. Initial reports show an altercation took place inside an apartment, escalating into an exchange of gunfire that involved multiple individuals. Two of those involved have been hospitalized for gunshot wounds, but their condition is unknown at this time. The investigation is still ongoing and Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more information as it becomes available. Law enforcement believes this event was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Manson Police Department and the Fort Dodge Police Department are also assisting in the investigation.
