District 1 Supervisor Scott Johnson has been selected by his peers on the Carroll County Board of Supervisors to serve as the board’s chair for the calendar year. Johnson, who was recently elected to his second term as a supervisor, received unanimous support from fellow members to lead the county’s executive board. Johnson says it is an honor to be considered for the position and intends to continue on the county’s current path.
Johnson says he is pleased with county operations overall, so his priority will be to maintain focus on providing the best service the county government can provide in the most cost-effective manner possible. Johnson is replacing District 4 Supervisor Stephanie Hausman, who has served as the board’s chair since 2022. She thanked her fellow supervisors and county residents for the experience during her terms.
Following Johnson’s appointment, the board selected Hausman to act as vice-chair for 2025. She will lead meetings if Johnson is absent from official county proceedings. Thursday’s meeting also included a lengthy list of county appointments for township trustees, various boards, and maintenance resolutions naming county depositories, official newspapers, and other items.
