Winter Hunting Seasons Drawing To A Close Soon

Iowa’s hunting seasons are beginning to wind down as several key dates approach. Pheasant, late muzzleloader and archery deer, and archery fall turkey seasons will end on Friday, Jan. 10. However, squirrel, quail, partridge, and grouse seasons will remain open until Jan. 31. Rabbit and furbearer hunting seasons are open through Feb. 28, while crow season runs from Jan. 14 to March 31. Beaver trapping season extends until April 15. For waterfowl hunters, the dark and light goose season in the north zone ends on Jan. 11, followed by the central zone on Jan. 18, and the south zone on Jan. 25. Additionally, Iowa’s light goose conservation order season opens statewide from Jan. 26 to May 1, though specific regulations apply. Hunters are reminded to review all rules and season dates before heading out. For detailed information, visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website at www.iowadnr.gov.
