Bradley John Vonnahme, age 41, of Coon Rapids, IA, and formerly of Carroll, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in a motor vehicle accident near Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Deacon Alan Loew officiating. Casket bearers will be Bill Becker, Eric Joneson, Lonnie Miller, Chris Hay, Tobey Jacobsen, Paul Whitenack, Jeff Miller, and Cory Sporrer. Honorary casket bearers will be Jake Johnston, Gerry Majerus, Chris Boggs, Jason Vonnahme, Gavin Trecker, Slayter Astleford, Earl Luft, Saul Huntley-Ayala, Tim Dennison, and Mary Ann Compton. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his children’s education.

Brad was born on April 28, 1983 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Ronald and Mary (Trecker) Vonnahme. He grew up in the Carroll and Templeton area and graduated from Carroll High School in 2001. Brad attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls and Western Iowa Tech in Denison. He had several jobs over the years, most recently at Carroll Hydraulics. Brad was married to Joy Johnson on April 10, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton. The couple made their home in Carroll until moving to Coon Rapids in 2022. Brad had a zeal for life and did everything 100 percent. Earlier this December, Brad achieved one of his life goals of obtaining his Class A CDL. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, playing cards, going to figure eight races, smoking meats, and helping family and friends. Brad didn’t know a stranger and found friends wherever he was.
Brad is survived by his wife Joy of Coon Rapids; a son Caiden Vonnahme (19) of Lake City; a son Brooks Vonnahme (6) at home; his parents Ronald and Mary Vonnahme of Carroll; a brother Jason Vonnahme (Jenn) of Carroll; a sister Barb Jacobsen (Tobey) of Carroll; five sisters-in-law: Julie Miller (Lonnie) of Carroll, Jessie Tigges (Joel) of Lidderdale, Jenny Hay (Chris) of Roselle, Janyce Majerus (Gerry) of Glidden, and Jill Potthoff (Justin) of Auburn; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brad was preceded in death by grandparents: Barbara and Dennis Trecker, Kenneth Frank, Martin and Jaunita Vonnahme; his uncle and aunt Mike and Lori Trecker; and a nephew Xavier Hay.
