U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has nominated a Greene County Community School District (CSD) student to a U.S. Service Academy. Senior Kamden Kinne was selected to attend the United States Air Force Academy for the graduating class of 2029. Kinne was one of 35 students nominated by Ernst, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Ernst says, “As a combat veteran and the proud mother of a West Point grad and solider in the U.S Army, one of my favorite duties as a United States Senator is nominating qualified Iowans to our U.S Service Academies. These young leaders exemplify strong values, a dedication to academics, and a commitment to community service that makes them exceptionally qualified to answer the call to serve our nation. It’s an honor to nominate them, and I know they will represent Iowa well.” Kinne will join the 14 other nominations at the Air Force Academy in El Paso, Colo., on June 25 to begin basic training.
