A Lenox woman has pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal mischief after damaging three statues at a Templeton cemetery. According to Carroll County District Court records, 39-year-old Amanda Lea Jackson was taken into custody on Dec. 9, 2024, for allegedly damaging three statues located in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton on Oct. 29, with a witness reporting a brown SUV recklessly driving to leave the cemetery at around 11:50 a.m. Jackson was later identified on a security camera at Waspy’s Truck Stop, driving the suspected brown 2011 Chevy Equinox at approximately 10:46 a.m., and wearing the same slippers left at the scene. Replacement of all three statues is estimated to be around $13,500. Jackson is facing two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, both class D felonies, and is being held at the Carroll County Jail on a $1,000 surety bond. A jury trial has been scheduled for March 25 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If convicted, Jackson faces a maximum penalty of up to ten years in prison and $20,490 in fines.
