Sen. Ernst Named Senate Small Business Committee Chair For 119th Congress

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) announced her committee assignments for the 119th Congress, which includes serving as the chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Ernst will also rejoin the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee while continuing her work on the Agriculture and Armed Services committees. Ernst says, “In this new Republican majority, I’m ready to hit the ground running to serve Iowans. After four years of Biden in the White House and a Schumer-controlled Senate, we can now counter Democrats’ reckless spending on radical, far-left priorities and get our country back on track.” Ernst plans to capitalize on her role leading the Small Business Committee to cut red tape, elevate rural entrepreneurs, and address childcare access in Iowa and across the nation. On Homeland Security, she will focus on border security and reducing government waste. Ernst also pledged to secure a strong Farm Bill and support Iowa farmers through the Agriculture Committee while continuing her efforts on national defense in the Armed Services Committee.
