The homeless man in custody for carrying a weapon on school grounds has entered a plea agreement with prosecutors. According to Carroll County District Court records, 26-year-old Darius Tra’von Chandler was arrested back in October, after trespassing at Fairview Elementary School while in possession of a firearm. Chandler was released from the Carroll County Jail awaiting a trial, under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services when he violated the terms of his pretrial release by failing to submit to drug testing, not keeping appointments and by testing positive for alcohol and THC when a sample was provided. Chandler has plead guilty to one count of carrying weapons on school grounds, a class D felony and will be sentenced later. Chandler faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $10,245 in fines.
