A homeless man residing in Sac County has been ordered to serve up to five years in prison for disregarding sex offender registry requirements. According to Sac County Attorney Ben Smith, 36-year-old Martin Andrew Arispe Jr. was sentenced Monday on one count of failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements—second offense, a class D felony. Arispe was registered in Buena Vista County at the time of his arrest, but an investigation by the Sac City Police Department found he was unlawfully residing at a home within 2,000 feet of a registered daycare. Arispe was ordered to serve up to five years in prison to run concurrently with felony convictions out of Buena Vista County for controlled substance violations and domestic abuse assault. The Sac and Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Offices assisted the Sac City Police Department in their investigation.
